worm digging

We went on a cool worm-digging field trip as part of the Puddlestompers program. Nate had been anxiously awaiting the outing and kept asking us every morning if we were going worm digging. Finally, the big day arrived! We met up with eight(ish) other kids for a fun and educational morning about worms. We learned that worms have no eyes, no noses, and no ears. They basically just eat and poop. Then we all went out to find some worms and we made a big worm playground for our new friends. We did release them back to their homes at the end of the day, but it was lots of fun getting to know more about our slimy neighbors.
