nate report: 15 months

Nate had his 15 month check-up yesterday. We have a new doctor, who seems nice and competent, but I miss Dr. Topa and am still in denial that he's not Nate's "vet" anymore (my unintentional pet name for the pediatrician). Nate's 22 lbs, 14 ozs (I'm guessing a couple of those ounces are from the copious amounts of goldfish he ate while in the waiting room) and 31.75 inches long - he's standing up now, so I'm not sure why they don't call it height? And his head's 47 cm. Nothing much interesting to report, except that we once again shocked a nursing staff by Nate's brute strength. The woman giving his immunizations almost needed to call in back-up.

windsday

Okay, okay, I stole that from Pooh, but it really is windy here. And cold! Even Thad said it's cold, so it must be true! In the spirit of winter, here are a few shots from a warmer day, not long ago, when it was actually fun to be outdoors...

boys' night out

Last night the Corbo/Hudak/Corbo-Hudak/Carlson boys had a night out. And where is more appropriate than Home Depot? From what I've heard, Nate loved it there even more than the shoe store, and ran around the aisles screaming in joy.

spoiler

Alison just WON Jeopardy! Seriously! We all screamed so loud we scared Nate (unlike Sunday night when we were absolutely silent).

voting

Nate would like to remind everyone in a Super Tuesday state to vote. Since he's not old enough, he's relying on us all to try our best to make the world a good place for him. And since I am so absolutely horrible about jinxing sports teams that I am supporting, I will make no election premonitions whatsoever just in case my bad vibes carry across to politics.

Speaking of not wanting to jinx people, everyone has to tune into Jeopardy! this Thursday night to see Alison's tv game show debut! Since it was filmed already, I'm hoping my support will not cause any bad karma.

are you ready for some football?

No, it's not what you think. On Thursday, Grandma (Corbo) went to the local party supply store to buy balloons for Grandpop's birthday bash. There was a balloon that said, "Happy Birthday Andy!" so she grabbed that and a few additional ones in matching colors out of the bins of uninflated balloons. The sales person asked, "it's a girl?" to which my mother replied, "no, it's for my husband." Not too long after, we figured out what she was talking about.

David (my boyfriend-in-law) gave my dad a Patriot's sweatshirt for his birthday. We're getting Nate prepped for tomorrow's big game, which he will hopefully sleep through.
