swimming
Nate and Thad have been taking swimming classes together, which consist of Thad holding Nate in a pool with some other kids and their parents, singing songs, blowing bubbles, playing with toys, and bouncing up and down. Nate's the youngest in the class (the other kids can all talk and walk), but he has been very vocal recently, despite his limited vocabulary, and has taken to shrieking a lot. They sing humpty dumpty and have a "great fall" three inches into the pool. They sing Ring Around the Rosie and at the end "all fall up." And, my personal favorite, they sing "The Wheels on the Bus" and the motor on the bus goes "pbbbbtttt" by blowing blubbles into the water. Nate seems to like it, although he does get a little cold by the end of the class. He has even blown bubbles, although Thad admits he doesn't really think it's deliberate, but nonetheless, it is still blowing bubbles. It's definitely a hard core learning experience and I'm certain all these kids will meet again in a decade or two in the Olympics based soley on their early swimming experiences. My stellar photography skills resulted in all these cute and fuzzy pictures from yesterday's class:
