Lots of Carlson cousins
We had a nice visit to Vermont with Nate and Anja's Carlson/Laraia first cousins, their entourage, and the Florida branch of the Laraias. The kids had a blast on the boat and playing in the water. The older kids are getting to an age where they can really start playing in the lake, rather than just falling into it, which is a nice change.
Then the following weekend we saw the extended Carlson family in Connecticut for a reunion. It was really amazing having everyone together and seeing all the mini-me Carlson (second) cousins running around. And the kids played SO well together, it was awesome!
The house was still under construction. Everything was going really smoothly, actually ahead of schedule, until (duh duh duh!) the floors. We were extremely pleased to find that the existing floors, which had been hidden under the ugly paint under the ugly linoleum, were great; however, we weren't happy with the workmanship of the refinisher so we had it fixed a few times, stinking up the house for a few weeks. Annoying, but necessary. C'est la vie.
