flashback... week two

If I was in a haze for the first week, I must have been in outer space the second week. I really don't remember much at all! Thad was home from work and our families went home, so we were on our own. It was nice to have some time with just the two of us to try and get a hold on this whole baby thing, but all those extra hands were missed. At some point I think it hit me that we have a baby. And he's sticking around for a while. And as much as you try to prepare yourself before he gets here, you are still unprepared. I will be adding juggling to my resume soon.

We went to our friends' house (thanks Laura and Steve!) for Thanksgiving, which was nice and relaxing, not to mention yummy. It was our first trip to visit someone and Nate did really well. And we attempted our first "public" feeding, which was not at all graceful. Someone should invent some sort of blanket that can attach to mom's shoulder, as it is tricky to feed a baby underneath a draped blanket and then remove him for burping without moving the blanket. We will need to practice this.

Since I don't remember what we did, I will just put a few pictures here. In the first one Nathaniel is sporting his cool Red Sox World Series Champions onesie from Gramma Carlson. It's important to teach your kids right from wrong at an early age.

Okay, where did she find that onesie! Baby #2 clearly needs one... ;)

Right from wrong!? This early Red Sox indoctrination stuff just has to stop. Maybe I should bring him back a Giants onesie just to round the kid out. ;-P

Hey Liz! Here's the scoop on the onesie from Gramma Carlson: "unfortunately, i don't remember the name of the store!!! But it is an art shop on the same street as Mike's Pastry which i beleive is Hanover St in the north end - above mike's, past st. leonard's catholic church and up about a block on the same side - :-) Holly may know the name of the shop - it has paintings and art in the window - tiny shop - an unlikely place for onesies!!! but they have notes and small gifts"
